Corporate Challenge Days

Rhubarb Farm can offer a great Corporate Challenge Day for businesses, voluntary and public sector organisations.  To date we have run Challenge Days for DWP Job Centre Workers, Nottingham University Environmental Technology Centre, Sainsbury's regional senior management team, Bolsover Community Mental Health team and Veolia Nottingham, Body Shop, Rolls Royce and others.

We make a charge for Corporate Challenge Days.  Please email or phone us to discuss, as we are able to tailor-make the experience as required.

Examples

On 17th Feb 2017 a team of 10 people from Sutton Job Centre did a day's volunteering at Rhubarb Farm.  We set them the puzzle of constructing our new 17m x 14m fruit cage.  A very tricky assignment, but one they managed brilliantly – an excellent example of team-building.  One of the team, Barbara commented on our Facebook page:-

“As part of the DWP cage building team I just want to say a massive thank you to the Rhubarb Farm Gang. We had such a brilliant day I learnt a lot and left full of the 'feel good factor'. As a team building day you couldn't ask for more and I hope we get to go back to do the netting and of course go back at harvest time to see the fruit we helped to save. Thank you x x”

DWP staff from Internal Audit also came for a Corporate Challenge Day, from around the country – West Scotland, Blackpool, Preston, Cardiff, Leeds and London.  They did a lot of ground prep, planting veg, cleaning out chickens, and building the first stage of our outdoor pizza ovens.  Feedback comments were all really positive -

“Never cleaned out chickens before!”

“Loved taking my shoes and socks off the squidging the clay and sand”

“Great fun, hard work”

“Great working with workmates, as we don't normally get the chance to work together”

“Seeing a snake in the wild”

“Meeting so many nice people and what excellent work is done by so many people, many volunteers”
